“Homecoming” / “Frost on the Road”
The life of an Itinerant Vendor’, as I am sometimes rather
unflatteringly referred to, is not altogether an easy one and much time
is spent on the road exhibiting my work at Celtic Festivals and
Gatherings from Canada to Georgia. One of the wonderful gifts of being
very much akin to a ‘Traveler, however, is the real camaraderie and
friendship of many talented artists who share the same desire to further
the Celtic culture. I am blessed to count as friends a Master
Goldsmith, superb Musicians, Woodworkers, Weavers, Stitchers, Metal
workers, Potters......and the list goes on and on.
Particularly dear to me among my circle of friends are Robin Rich and
his wife Robin. YES, both are Robins!! Rob is a doubly gifted artist -
he is a Master of the real art of the most intricate Celtic designs
utilizing the ancient craft of Welsh Inlay. He is also a very
accomplished performer/ musician and has mastered a plethora of musical
instruments. Rob and Robin live in the mountains of Virginia and there
are a number of Rob’s CDs available showcasing his fine voice and
musical talents!
This artist was honored to have been asked to provide a painting to
be used for Rob’s Christmas CD, entitled “Frost on the Road”, a
collection of carols and seasonal songs from the British Isles. It
